‘Wooden Heart’
Supported by the Arts Council of Ireland - ‘Wooden Heart’ is an exciting research and development process exploring ‘Shadow Theatre’ to a new unique creative level, focussing on the sensory elements and their positive , calming effects on children . Wooden Heart will use the story of Pinnochio as a starting point to inspire ideas and this process will give a voice through workshop participation to the young people it is aimed at . Margaret is partnered by Hugh Mc Cathy Artist & gallery technician from Rua Red Arts Centre & The South Dublin Libraries. Watch this space !!

In Development...
STUCK
In November 2018 garbo Productions in collaboration with the Civic theatre held this two-day script development process with Playwright and Director Margaret Callan Bergin mentored by Civic theatre Artistic Director Michael Barker Cavan.
‘Stuck’ is a place centred around a group of secondary school students and the mental and emotional challenges they face growing up today with the sometimes tragic consequences of these challenges.
Margaret was recently awarded a bursary by Dublin arts office to bring the Play to final draft. These exploratory readings are integral to the final stage of the writing.
The writer's aim was to approach this important theme with originality and accuracy, using this part of the process to reach out further to explore the characters with the inside of young professional actors. Actors who can bring their personal experience, insight and empathy to the expiration of The script.
